Battery and UPS Runtime Calculator

Estimate battery runtime with inverter losses, depth of discharge and Peukert effect

Use 1.00 to disable the Peukert correction. Lead-acid batteries are often around 1.10–1.30; lithium is usually much closer to 1.00.
Many lead-acid Ah ratings use the 20-hour rate (C20). Check the datasheet.

Battery and UPS runtime estimate

Series batteries increase bank voltage while parallel strings increase amp-hour capacity. The calculator accounts for allowed depth of discharge, remaining battery capacity, inverter conversion losses and inverter self-consumption.

The optional Peukert correction models the capacity loss that many lead-acid batteries experience at high discharge current. A value of 1.00 produces the simple energy-based estimate and is generally more suitable for batteries with little rate-capacity effect.
